IntroductionDue to its rarity, there is limited information regarding breast hydatid disease, mostly derived from case reports. This study aims to review the clinical presentation and management of the disease systematically.
MethodsThe PubMed/Medline and Google Scholar were searched with the following keywords: (Breast OR Breasts OR "mammary gland" AND hydatid OR hydatidosis OR echinococcus OR echinococcal OR echinococcosis OR "E. granulosus"). Only English-language studies published in legitimate journals were included. Additional inclusion criteria involved a confirmed diagnosis of breast hydatid cyst, details on presentation, cyst characteristics, and management.
ResultsMost cases were reported in India (32.6%) and Turkey (25.6%). The mean age of the patients was 40.88 ± 15.7 years, and all 43 patients were female. Most (69.8%) were asymptomatic, while 25.6% reported pain and 2.3% reported dry skin. Surgery with albendazole was the treatment of choice in 51.2% of the cases, followed by surgery alone in 39.5%. Most cases (65.1%) recovered without complications, whereas one did not and was under follow-up. The recovery status was not mentioned in 14 cases (32.6%).
ConclusionBreast hydatid cyst is an extremely rare finding that can be asymptomatic in most instances. Surgery combined with albendazole may be the most successful treatment approach.

Predatory journals challenge the scholarly community by muddling the boundary between legitimate and dubious publishing practices. Despite the awareness of predatory publishers, there are no globally accepted criteria for identifying them. Various warning lists have emerged as predatory practices evolve, but they are not impervious to criticism despite their utility. This study reviewed the most common of the predatory lists. Beall's list, the pioneer in exposing predatory publishers, received criticism for its inclusion criteria. It is now anonymously managed and poorly updated. Cabells' list has a broad range of inclusion criteria; however, some have been criticized for redundancy and lack of alignment with predatory practices. Kscien's list shows promise as an alternative for spotting predatory journals and publishers. However, it requires refinement since the included journals, based on their core criteria, are not distinguished from those included using traditional criteria. The Early Warning List of International Journals is a recent compilation with diverse criteria. Despite attracting the scientific community's attention, there are questions about the reliability of its inclusion criteria. However, these lists are crucial in flagging predatory publishers; researchers can depend on them while preparing their manuscripts.

IntroductionMany studies have emphasized the impact of breastfeeding on the health of both the mother and the infant, especially its impact on the different types of cancers that can develop in the mother. Due to the ongoing conflict regarding whether or not breastfeeding reduces, increases, or has no impact on the risk of cancer, this systematic review was conducted to settle this conflict and shed light on the issue.
MethodsThe CINAHL, PubMed/MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and EMBASE databases were thoroughly searched to identify any studies published in the English Language up to November 25th, 2023.
ResultsOut of the initial 170 papers the systematic search brought, 16 of them met all the criteria and were left to be included in the study. A sum of 29,100 patients were included in the study with 19,905 of them having breastfed. A total of 14,817 patients were developing different types of cancer and within them, breast cancer was the most frequent. Furthermore, there seemed to be a majority association between breastfeeding and cancer in the mother as most of the studies concluded that breastfeeding is observed to decrease the risk.
ConclusionThe majority of studies support the hypothesis that breastfeeding and breastfeeding duration both lower the risk of cancer, especially breast cancer, developed in the mother.

Introduction Mesothelioma is a rare and rapidly advancing tumor that usually emerges on the mesothelial surfaces of the pleura or peritoneum. Despite being a well-recognized rare disease for decades, the only approved primary treatment protocol has been platinum-based treatments plus pemetrexed, whether or not bevacizumab is administered. Immunotherapy-based immune checkpoint inhibitors demonstrated a promising antitumor efficacy in a variety of cancer types. This is a systematic review of the current role of durvalumab in the management of this condition.
Methods A systematic search was carried out through the databases and search engines. Regardless of study design, line of therapy, mode of therapy, or Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance status, studies that primarily focused on the outcomes of treating this disease with durvalumab were eligible for inclusion. After the initial and full-text screenings, five studies were reviewed.
Results The median age of the total 235 patients was 66.9 years. Males comprised 174 (74.04%) of the cases, with 61 (25.95%) cases being female. The Epithelioid mesothelioma subtype accounted for 194 (82.55%) of the patients. Durvalumab, in combination with pemetrexed cisplatin/carboplatin as therapy, was used in 109 (48.38%) cases. Durvalumab and tremelimumab were used in the treatment of 40 (17.02%) cases, of which 17 (7.23%) had retreatment with both immunotherapies. Among the patients who underwent durvalumab treatment, 69 (29.36% ) of the individuals previously received carboplatin/pemetrexed and cisplatin/pemetrexed.
Conclusion Durvalumab can be utilized as an effective alternative for malignant pleural mesothelioma treatment, providing positive results and acceptable safety profiles.

Pregnant women represent a vulnerable population due to their altered immune response, potentially leading to increased susceptibility and severity of infections. The COVID-19 infection might increase the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes in this population, however, to date, it has not been established whether SARS-CoV-2 infection leads to these outcomes as differing conclusions have been made by the published studies and reviews. This comprehensive review explores the impact of COVID-19 on pregnancy outcomes, encompassing maternal, fetal, and neonatal health. The current literature reports higher rates of adverse maternal outcomes among pregnant women with COVID-19, this includes increased rates of cesarean section, preeclampsia, and elevated risk of intensive care unit (ICU) admission and maternal death. Fetal and neonatal outcomes are also influenced by COVID-19 infection during pregnancy. Findings suggest an elevated risk of preterm birth, low birth weight, stillbirth, and Neonatal ICU admissions among newborns of mothers with COVID-19. The emergence of SARS-CoV-2 variants, such as the Delta variant, raises concerns about their potential impact on more adverse outcomes compared to the wild type. Vaccination has demonstrated safety and efficacy in pregnant women, providing a potential preventive measure against COVID-19. However, the potential impact of vaccination on adverse pregnancy outcomes requires further investigation. To address current knowledge gaps, future research should also focus on long-term effects, fertility considerations, child development, and the impact of emerging variants.

Kscien’s list is currently the most up-to-date blacklist. The current study aims to add some additional properties to the first version of Kscien’s list in order to recognize predatory publications more appropriately. Kscien has developed two other independent lists besides the four previous ones under the titles “Conference list” and “Cumulative list”. The conference list includes the titles of predatory conferences that are independent or sponsored by a particular organization. After vanishing Beall’s list, Kscien’s list remained the only up-to-date list of predatory publications. Nonetheless, the predators' rapid evolution with several mutated strategies compelled Kscien Predatory List Committee to take some necessary actions to keep predatory publications under observation and better recognize them; the conference and cumulative lists would be a necessary option to shed light on modern predators.
